FBI Director Comey visits White House6 / 27
FBI Director James Comey was at the White House on Friday, days after he confirmed his bureau is investigating ties between associates of President Trump and Russia.
Comey was spotted by television cameras walking into the West Wing. It wasn't clear whether Comey was slated to meet with Trump or the purpose of his visit.
No meeting with Comey was listed on the president's public schedule and the White House has not yet commented on the director's visit. Comey was spotted leaving the White House less than an hour later.
The director on Monday made a bombshell revelation testifying before Congress that the FBI is probing whether Trump allies cooperated with Moscow's efforts to meddle in the 2016 presidential election.
Comey also said he has seen no evidence to back up Trump's claim that former President Barack Obama ordered a wiretapping at Trump Tower during the election.
The FBI director's last known visit to the White House came two days after Trump's inauguration, when the president warmly shook his hand at a reception for first responders and law enforcement officials.
