annoyed by her misrepresenting the facts. lets look at this factually;
1) I would never, ever refer to anyone as "whitey". Please provide the evidence I did this. That's an out and out lie. My girlfriend is white and I'd be hypocrite of the year if I used that terminology. When I addressed my e-mail to Denis Hamil and Mike Daly I refered to them as "educated white males". If you work in Manhattan you will understand my reference to the yuppie types that think they know more about everything than anyone else, especially the police. It seems the more "educated" these clowns become the more they feel that education makes them an expert in all things.
2) When the article I wrote was sent to her for "editing", I received a take it or leave it response to the changes Calandra made. Those are my words from my experiences, and I'll be damned if any civilian is going to put words in my mouth. After 20 years of making arrests and testifying in open court I never let a defense attorney bully me on the stand and I sure as sh*t am not going to start now.
3) There was NEVER any discussion to determine if I were a detective or not. That's a flat out lie. How could I not be in the DEA databases if I spent 11 years with the shield? All she had to do is ook in her.
4) I respect the fact she has a brother and son on the job, but guess what? If you have never put on that blue costume and run around any of the 5 boros, then she does not know what she's talking about.
5) I posted my letter and her revisions in their ENTIRETY. Unlike her, I did not change her words. I posted them just as she wrote them to me. I did for her here what she refused to do for me in the Daily News.
The bottom line is this; The Daily News created a situation where 3 detectives lives where turned upside down and the people leading the rush to judgment was the Daily News, Mike Daly and Denis Hammil. The Daily News did a huge disservice to the people of New York by making Bell and Co. seem like innocent victims of the lawless cowboy police, when the truth was Bell and Co. were hardened ex-cons that created the situation where they got shot.
