An NYPD precinct commander made a collar Monday after gunmen unleashed a murderous barrage on a rival Queens crew, police said.
Deputy Inspector Charles McEvoy was on patrol in Jamaica when he saw three cars roll up on a group of men hanging out in front of a home on 164th St., police said.
The gunmen turned the residential block into a shooting gallery, killing one man and critically wounding another.
"It was an organized assassination," said a horrified witness.
Rashawn Carter, 29, of Jamaica, was killed by a single shot to the head, police sources said. A second man, shot in the chest, was in critical condition at Jamaica Hospital, police said.
McEvoy, who commands the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica, chased down and handcuffed one armed suspect, police sources said.
Three men were arrested and five guns were recovered in all, police sources said. Two other gunmen were still at large.
