nice, but what about the 59,000 top pay reason , or the fact that everyone who can is trying to leave this sinking ship , even SGT'S and in some cases
LT's for better pay . I don't underdstand why these news networks refuse to mention that.

That really irked me too about the story. They kept mentioning the $25k salary but NOT ONE Officer they interviewed was at that payscale when they left the
NYPD. They all had graduated the academy when they left so their pay was at least mid 30's to mid 40's. Plus, a lot of the smaller town jobs are going
to cops with experience that have 5+ yrs on the job, so in essence the whole story was a big steaming pile of BS Fluff.

They need to interview a former NYPD Sgt or a 10 year Vet PO who left to go out to Nassau, Suffolk or Upstate for more money this rookie pay is not the reason
guys with 10 years or better are bailing out....
