The French Revolution was funded by bankers (yeah you know who) and led by evil "Enlightened" and "illuminated" Jesus haters who, as far as I have found so far, started the blueprint for their future Communist revolutions in Russia and elsewhere. They were at war with the Church under the guise of Freedom & Liberty.

Cult of the Supreme Being

Robespierre's desire for revolutionary change was not limited to the political realm. Having denounced the excesses of dechristianization, he sought to instill a spiritual resurgence in the French nation based on his Deist beliefs. Accordingly, on 7 May 1794, Robespierre had a decree passed by the Convention that established an official religion, known historically as the Cult of the Supreme Being. The notion of the Supreme Being was based on ideas that Jean-Jacques Rousseau had outlined in The Social Contract.

The French Revolution had given birth to many radical changes in France, but one of the most fundamental for the hitherto Catholic nation was the official rejection of religion. The first major organized school of thought emerged under the umbrella name of the Cult of Reason. Advocated by extreme radicals like Jacques Hébert and Antoine-François Momoro, the Cult of Reason distilled a mixture of largely atheistic views into a humanocentric philosophy. No gods at all were worshiped in the Cult – the guiding principle was devotion to the abstract conception of Reason.^[3]

They murdered the rich, murdered the ruling class, murdered the intellectuals who disagreed with them, murdered, murdered , murdered.

Later, in their future experiment called Communism, these same tactics would be used at a scale of 10's of millions murdered.

How fitting.
There were hardly any people that fit this tax criteria in France anyway.
