Parents are worse... I was an assistant coach or a LL team. The player and their parents were lucky to have the head coach they did. He gave up his time 7 days a week for games or practice, and led the team to their league's championship. The LL then decided to have a "super championship " of the league winners. The league waived rules of innings pitched/days of rest so that the teams could have their best pitchers pitch. He asked 1 question when told.. What was the reason for the original rules? The answer, the child's health. When he informed the parents of his decision to play under the original rules there was a near"mutiny". Some of these parents embarrassed themselves.

Also was assistant for cyo basketball, no one's parents volunteered to coach, no team with no coach.. So another parent and I volunteered, but we informed everyone that neither of us knew thing one about basketball.. All the parents were just thankful that their daughters would be able to play. That was until the games started, then they all became basketball coach critics.
