Sure there were no shots or injuries as you pointed out, but I know you're not complimenting them. This is a backhanded slap at the Detectives involved in the Bell case. This editorial piece makes it sound like we have total control over whether shots get fired or not. Well guess what genius, sometimes we don't have a choice. Sometimes cops are pushed against a wall and have to do what they feel is necessary at that moment in time of danger. They can't go back to their desk at the Daily News and think over what is happening, and then respond.
No Arty I can see right through you. Hacks like yourself are always easy to spot. This editorial heaps so much false praise, it's like a giant turd covered with frosting. I'm sick just looking at it. So why do I think you're a phony and a liar??? Simple; Mike Bloomberg was your employer, and you are pushing his agenda in print. That's why I call you to your face a cowardly hack that lacks the guts to tell the truth (P.S. This will be e-mailed to you with my full name, address, and phone number if you have a problem with the truth).
You actually have the nerve to print that this has, "...put the lie to the relentlessly spun fable that the department is populated by trigger happy cowboys." You have an incredible amount of gall printing that in light of the fact the Daily News, with the help of the hacks at the police desk, Denis Hamill and Mike Daly have helped fuel that perception. You either have a very short memory or you're a pathological liar. My money is on the latter.
So this incident, "...epitomized why the cops are so aptly called New York's Finest." Oh really? Then why have you taken Mayor Midget's side in the PBA contract negotiations? Not only is Patrick Lynch fighting City Hall to get fair and decent wages for it's members, but also the Daily News Editorial page editor. You have tried to turn the public against fair wages for cops by spreading Mayor Midgets lie that homeowners will not be able to get a tax break because of the PBA contract.
Do you think the playing field is level when the mayor has the ability to get a major newspaper to publish his position as the papers own??? The people that read the editorials where you trash the union then go after Pat Lynch on a personal level is deception at best, criminal collusion at it worst. People read that editorial and think they are gettng a neutral unbiased voice neither from City Hall nor the PBA. But you're decieving them all right when you publish the mayors agenda, as your unbiased opinion. For the PBA to get what the mayor has for free would require thousands of dollars in advertising fees. Is this fair? Is this an honorable thing to do? I don't think I need to give you an answer if you can't figure it out.
In closing, Arthur Browne can take his 'opinions' and shove them up his smug, yuppie ass. You are absolutely one of the lowest forms of life there is. You're helping mayor mike keep decent hard working people that were instrumental in making this city great again in a vice grip of financial struggle and hardship. Is our lives better now? Mayor Mike and Arthur Browne and sure doing their damnedest to make sure it's not.
