I make no money from the ads (pop-ups) you see in the post and are owned by YUKU, and all profits from the ads go entirely to YUKU.
Guide to Blocking ADs on the RANT (and elsewhere)...
The following quick and easy steps can be used to block ads on the rant (and elsewhere). Commercials on YouTube? Not on my PC... It will also block tracking service codes embedded on Web pages and let you know just who is being blocked.
Everything is FREE and not crippled trial software, but you can contribute at some point if you choose.
1. Move to Google Chrome (or other better browser)
If you haven't done so already, ditch Internet Explorer for Chrome (my choice), Firefox, or Safari. All are faster, have more versatility, and tend to have a better selection of add in modules (called Extensions in Chrome and Add-Ons in Firefox).
2. Install Ad Block Plus
Go to https://adblockplus.org/ or to the respective module store in your browser (Chrome-->Preferences-->Extensions-->Get More Extensions is at the bottom of it or Firefox-->Tools-->Add-Ons-->Get More Add-Ons is at the top).
When you install it, be sure to follow the instructions to where you cut out the "non-intrusive" advertising that is now allowed.
3. Install Disconnect.ME
This extension is absolutely mindblowing. Ever visit Drudge or Fox News and suddenly start getting ads on that page relevant to something you searched Amazon for? This program will block all of the tracking/cookie stuff responsible for this crap and let you know exactly what sites are trying to track you (and are BLOCKED).
All of the above stuff is totally free, but you can feel contribute if you like.
Ed might want to consider making this one a sticky if enough guys report success with it (I have a feeling that this will be the case).
