ryanpax, first and foremost, glad YOU got out of the situation ok.
I only called one 85 forthwith in my career, and the nightstick to the floating rib along with a certain hold that is allegedly banned by the NYPD, got the primary perp under control. The cavalry did a great job against the herd of wildebeasts that surrounded us on a hot summer night in the ghetto. My eternal thanks to those that responded. My right shoulder still gives me problems 20 years later, though. Kinda like tennis elbow. The ADA accused me of using street justice on the perp, and most of the charges were dropped. The hood of the RMP looked like a Crime Scene with all the blood spilled. The perp was like an old friend, compliant, co-operative during his next felony arrest. Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks? Much as everybody kids around, there are a few guys from the Academy, Driver training, the Outdoor Range that are owed a debt of gratitude when some little technique, helps tilt the hand of fate in a life and death struggle.

Just like ActionTrooper said, not only did you come out safely, you may have just saved the next Officer a lot of aggravation and hurt next time your perp gets stopped by a mos. Good to see you are well!! A perfect examply to all of us, keep up the training, keep ourselves in good physical condition and dont take anything for granted...(And never rat out your friends) sorry couldnt help the reference. |

Once you were done with the perp you should have turned around and tasered someone that was laughing in the crowd.

We all become complacent whether its the situation that weve beenin 100's of times before, or the area were in. every so often we need a mental wake up
call.
Rantus ad Mortem Crime doesnt pay...neither does the NYPD Im a cop. Its what I do, not who I am. You can't depend on the courts to keep criminals off our streets. But, you can depend on them to put
criminals back on the street.

when in a life threatening situation you will to survive will be paramount. Ofcourse being in good shape and proper training will help also help you thru. I
always found it amusing when you were calling an 85 for help and then were surrounded by wildebeasts. As soon as the troops rolled up all the tough guys and
loud mouths ran back into there government homes projects. Just like the true pvssys they are, right sternfag?

I;m not in top shape but I'm not in bad shape either I just heard the instructors voice in my head when the perp was on top of me. It all felt like slow
motion. I hit the panic( 10-13 )button on my radio and began to fight. we ended up on the ground...I was doing fine till the mutt caught me with an elbow to my
throat he was on top of me before I knew it....I hugged him as tightly to my body as I can so he couldnt throw any more punches but this mofo was strong I
pulled my asp wrapped my arms rocking the asp back and fourth on his floating ribs should have heard him screamas hard as I could..this guy wanted to hurt me
By the way found out the perp was on parole in NYS made my boss the appropriate phone calls he's screwed once CT is done with him...It was one hell of a wake up call I Just wanted to share this story and video with all of you as a reminder to keep in shape and always keep your gaurd up...
