A stunning video posted on the internet shows an NYPD cop shoulder checking a cyclist to the pavement in an apparently unprovoked attack during a demonstration in Times Square.
The uniformed officer seems to single out the biker as dozens of cyclists ride through Times Square in a Critical Mass rally held Friday evening.
Two cops are shown standing in the middle of the southbound lanes as the swarm of bikers ride around them.
Without warning, one of the police officers begins to walk toward the sidewalk while looking north. He crouches down slightly then launches his shoulder into a passing cyclist who appeared to be avoiding the officer.
The impact sends the white T-shirt clad biker onto the sidewalk in front of shocked on-lookers. The cop and his partner then hover around the fallen man and his bike.
NYPD officials said today they are investigating the incident.

That was
beautiful.
